It's got attractive shops to meander around, good waterfront restaurants for lunch or snacks and there's the nearby ferries to Centre Island. There are also harbour cruises if you're so inclined. The Lake was just about frozen over and everywhere was a winter wonderland. It was too cold to stand and loiter but got hot coffee in the centre and had a wander about. When I arrived it was a few restaurants basically supported by the lunching business people in the area and nothing else. What a disappointment when I returned the Monday at the beginning of the March Break with my family in tow to find nothing. We were staying at the nearby delta hotel and figured we would make the short walk down to harbourfront and walk around and explore, only to find a ghost town and a building now filled with offices. I'm not sure when this place underwent such a dramatic makeover, but it is certainly not the Queens Quay of my youth. Based on the cost of a regular men's haircut at the barbershop located in side $36, rent in this place must be a fortune and it's no wonder all those stores have migrated out.
